Common questions
What order should I watch the Saint Seiya adaptations in?
You can begin with the original 1986 Saint Seiya television series to understand the foundational story. Afterward, you may explore Saint Seiya: The Hades Chapter from 2002, the 2014 film Saint Seiya: Legend of Sanctuary, or the 2023 movie Knights of the Zodiac for different visual interpretations.
Is Knights of the Zodiac a direct sequel to the 1986 Saint Seiya series?
No, the 2023 Knights of the Zodiac movie is a standalone adaptation rather than a direct sequel to the 1986 Saint Seiya television series. Each production, including Saint Seiya: The Hades Chapter and Saint Seiya: Legend of Sanctuary, offers a unique take on the source material.
How long is the original Saint Seiya series compared to the 2023 movie?
The original 1986 Saint Seiya television series is a multi-episode production that provides a lengthy narrative arc. In contrast, the 2023 Knights of the Zodiac film is a feature-length movie that condenses the story of Seiya discovering his powers and protecting the reincarnated goddess into a single viewing experience.
Does the 2023 Knights of the Zodiac movie cover the same events as Saint Seiya: Legend of Sanctuary?
Both the 2023 Knights of the Zodiac movie and the 2014 Saint Seiya: Legend of Sanctuary film are separate adaptations of the same source material. While they share core themes regarding Seiya and his destiny, they are distinct projects and do not share the same continuity.
